Carnegie Deli

The world-famous Carnegie Deli started as a small Jewish delicatessen, based in New York City. Its first location, opened in 1937 near Carnegie Hall, was located on 7th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Original owner, Milton Parker, turned Carnegie Deli into an icon for many of the city’s most famous entertainers from Robin Williams, Mel Brooks, and Stevie Wonder early on to celebrities like Stephen Spielberg, Alec Baldwin, and Conan O’Brien decades later. Carnegie Deli has been featured in every media outlet imaginable over its 80-year history, including TV shows, magazines, newspapers and Adam Sandler’s “Chanukah Song.”

Today, the Carnegie Deli brand is owned by Parker’s daughter, Marian Harper, and Parker’s granddaughter, Sarri Harper, who uphold the same standards that earned Carnegie its iconic name. Their mission is to provide consumers with the ultimate New York deli experience.

The challenge

Known for their gargantuan sandwiches, smoked and cured meats, potato knishes, and decadent, creamy cheesecake, our challenge was to help them grow their online business, increasing brand awareness, making their food products accessible to people around the globe, and to dramatically increase ecommerce sales.

The solution

ECD launched a combination of email and SMS campaigns and automated flows to grow online sales. Email and SMS campaigns highlight new products, sales promotions, and customer rave reviews while automated flows based on customer behavior target the right customer, at the right time, with messages that empower them to buy.
